My Cessna 172 Skyhawk Maintenance Experience
My Cessna 172 Skyhawk Maintenance Experience
A one of the modules in my extended diploma in aeronautical engineering that I did after my GCSEs, I was taught how to remove, inspect, and re-attach the propeller to a Cessna 172.
We were walked through the inspection and then removal of all 14 pan head screws on the aircraft's spinner.
Next was the removal of the attaching bolts securing the forward bulkhead, the washers, the sensenich propeller, dowl pins, rear bulkhead, and finally, the spacer.
The rear bulkhead resting on top of the sensenich.
We checked for missing washers and wear, of which there was little.
Finally, we reinstalled the assembly in reverse order to the way we removed it.
